This marks a significant milestone for the manufacturer and is a big step towards certifying the aircraft.  The first flight was piloted by Diamond\u2019s Head of Flight Test S\u00f6ren Pedersen the maiden flight covered system checks, all basic maneuvers and initial performance evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1018\" height=\"573\" src=\"https:\/\/news.e-flight-journal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1471\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.e-flight-journal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-2.png 1018w, https:\/\/www.e-flight-journal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-2-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.e-flight-journal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-2-768x432.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1018px) 100vw, 1018px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diamond Aircraft annouced the eDA40 project in 2021  which will apply for EASA\/FAA Part 23 certification. eDA40  is designed to target the flight training market.
